Removing rear blackout with 3M tape?
I have started to get tired of the look with the honeycomb blackout I put on the rear. It is attached with 3M tape. What is the best method for removing one of these? Is it gonna damage my paint when I take it off?

I had to do this a while ago when the original tape started failing. Its a pain in the *** and takes time. Basically, try to get a corner loose and then start prying. It won't damage the paint but you may break the plastic panel. Get a few wooden dowels or something to put in between the panel and trunk once you start making progress. This saves a lot of time from the stuff re-sticking. You can also try loosening up the tape by using a hair dryer. Good luck.

Hey chronism Get your girl friends or wife’s hair dryer get it really hot and aim it at the tape, do not use screw drivers or anything like that. I have sometimes used dental floss to like a saw to cut the tape.
If you heat gun use a mild temperature so you do not blister the paint. If you are impatient and do not like the hair dryer and dental floss be careful with what ever you pry it off with.

Thanks for the responses and suggestions, I will try this tomorrow in the sun, that way I won't have to heat it much. If I can get it off in one piece without breaking it or bending/warping it, I will consider selling it.
