Default Who makes the best hood struts and best price

Looking into hood struts...who makes the best set ....I have seen avg price of $100-$115 with the cheapest price going to JDM at $69. Does anyone have JDM's and why are they $40 less. Also does anyone have a favorite and where they got...let me know.
thx

The JDM require rivets instead of using bolts. I have the redline which are the same as teh JDM and like them alot.

I love them......IMHO they look WAY BETTER then the MRT hood shocks!

I got the CDC struts. They were $100 I think. The quality of the mounts was in my opinon sub-par. They were very sharp and dull looking. Luckily I work at a machine shop and just deburred and polished them. The struts look good. But i'm going to take the CDC sticker off them. I went this route because I didnt want to rivet anything to my car. This set-up just bolts on.

I've got the Redline also and they work & look great. Got them on Ebay at $69. As far as price difference I believe it's the black finish is cheaper and the stainless finish is more. Nice thing is you justlift up about 8 inches and lifts up the rest of the wayon it's own.

SO do these hood struts direct bolt-ons with existing locations?

Just wondering... It'd be nice.

MRT makes or has one that uses exsisting hardware......they are not cheap, you get what you pay for.......

I have the Stainless Steel models from Redline-look great and work even better. Yea, they use rivits but it's an easy install and I think they look much better than the ones that use existing bolts AND no hood realignment needed. Just my $.02.

Is there a physical disadvantage to just using the stock hood bar? Hood bending or anything?

I open my hood EVERYDAY when I get home to cool the engine off (Its how I was raised...) so this is actually important in my case.
