Wow! I can't believe almost EVERYONE has had a problem with this! Kinda sad. I've had my car for over a year and the drivers side, the only one that really gets used, had just broken last month. I was planning on trying some superglue or something but hadn't gotten around to it. For me it was just the plastic cover on the lever snapped off at the base which is still attatched. So, anyone have a fix for it??

So far, I haven't had any issues with them. You can also use the ones on the bottom. The back ones are for the person in the back so they dont have to reach for the bottom one.

Oh yeah, you have to hold the seat and not just pull up on them roughly. Hold seat then lift gently.
If you try it with holding the seat it makes it harder. Try it and you will see what I mean,
It's hard to explain. But I tell my wife everytime my son gets in the back.

No, I know what you are saying. Although it's kind of a natural motion to grab the upper side of the seat
to manipulate the release lever(seems like the seat release lever won't work of you don't get leverage by grabbing the side of the seat). Well, I've only had about 4 or 5 trips in the 9 months I've owned the car where there's been a back seat passenger.

Mine broke off last month. I work at a machine shop so i made on out of alum on my brake. It looks like crap because I only had 15 mins to make but will be trying to make nice ones in the machining center when time opens up. I will keep u posted since the dealer ones are $36 I should be able to make a pair for less than one. An they wont break as easy.

The car wash broke the one on the right side, paid for a new one. $49.50 for a piece of plastic ?
I agree, we need to have billet ones made.

Let me know if somebody finds them. I'm in........

Broke one of mine within 2 weeks after getting the car. Replaced it, & I just use the ones @ bottom of the seat now.The plastic is just too thin where it slides onto the metal piece.

I refuse to answer this post on the grounds that I use them nearly every day (had the car for a year)and they haven't broken yet but I'm sure they would should I decide to brag on the fact that they haven't.

I am gentle with them though since reading this and other posts like it. Hopefully my overly-cautious paranoia will pay off this time.

Mine has ben broken for 2 years. I had Ford replace it shortly after it broke but they didn't install the new one right and it just fell off so I said screw it.

$50 bucks, you got ripped off. They were $4.50 at the dealership I went to.
