Thanks for the heads up! I did it by complete accident and ever sense have been much more cautious about it. I will admit though, it sounded meaner than hell! Since I've reset the computer by unplugging the battery because I did a few exhaust mods and wanted to recal. things. Do you think thise erarses the ECU logs??

No, that info is kept in non-volitile memory which means it's there until reset by the appropriate ECU diagnostic gear.... It's kind of sucky in a way because if you do have a 7k moment and then months later the motor dies, hey'll catch the 7k excursion anduse it against you. I've heard that BMW use that trump card a lot on the M3 which folk seem to regularlyover rev on down shifts... BMW drivers though eh? LOL

i hit the limiter in my auto the other day. the throttle went limp and the car just slowed down. after that it was perfectly fine though.

When I hit the rev limiter with my Brenspeed tune, it doesn't do that.

It's different than stock, it sort of seems like it mis-fires, but doesn't slow way down or go "limp."

Those of you with tunes, is this normal?

I hit the limiter once, first time I tried a burnout I just burried my foot and it quickly hit 6250rpm.

the rev limiter in the car is an ignition shut off at 6250 rpm till essential is like turning off the car until it reachs a safe rpm level again. if you go past the limiter to 6500 ive been told it also kills the fuel supply, by not signaling the ingectors to spray fuel into the cylinders. the cars ecm onlyhas a short three cycle memory with each cycle being 18 miles so as long as you put 54 miles on it after being silly the dealer will not be able to pull up anything but what has been logged of the last three cycles

The puter will hold over rev info permantly. There is no time or milage limit. When I reflash with my SCT 2, I set max rpm to 6200, just for safety sake. I have an auto trans now, so missing a shift isn't as likely. I recomend a shift light for those that like to race a stick shift.
