Hey Rusty!
Appearance wise, the Shaker and the stripes have the greatest visual impact on my car. Which is not always a good thing when a cop is nearby.
1. All in all, the install wasn't too difficult. Total time was around 10 hours (spread over 3 days). The only snag I came across was from the K&N CAI, but after some head scratching, a solution was found (thanks to the hump hose). If you have a stock intake, knock off at least 3 hours. Basically can be all done on a Saturday!
2. Yes!, Yes!, and most definitely YES!
I 've heard of shops charging anywhere between $200 - $400 to install this Shaker kit. If you're considering it, save a gang of money and do it yourself. And, I canjust aboutguarantee that your gaps will be more even compared to what a shopcan do.

Two Questions:
(1) How long did it take you from start to finish?
(2) I love the look of the Shaker.. Was it worth the time, money and effort?

... So, I decide to flip through the print-outs, just to see what they have, and I notice the pictures they have are pretty familiar. I go back to your write-up and check...yup, they are your pictures! Too funny!

If you ever decide on the MGW shifter, you may recognize the install video that'll be packaged with it.

I have to ask. Is this what you do every weekend? I think that it is great that you take this time to do all of these upgrades, not only for yourself but to help out all of us Mustang owners. I really enjoy your write ups. Oh, and the car looks great!

Bill - is the CDC shaker pretty much the same one for the 04's and earlier? I have looked for one that's listed for 05 and newer but to no effect. Was your price around $800?

To answer your question, yes, CDC was the supplier for the 03/04 Mach 1's (scoop only, Ford designed their own base).
I paid $745 from American Muscle, but that was last year. They've sinced raised their prices.

An option is to swap hoods withsomeone as thesame color as your's who wants the factory hood scoop.
Forum 'For Sale' sections and local clubs will be your best bet.

RE: CDC Shaker Hood Install (w/pic & vid)
would you recommend the stock air box or is it worth it to use an aftermarket CAI with the CDC shaker as well? I thought the CDC shaker would have been the 'ultimate' CAI, but I've spoken to CDC and they seem bullish on using either a Steeda or C&L CAI along with this kit for even better performance.
