what are the specs on the factory amp on the shaker 500 for the door subs?

I changed out only the HU so far, and that alone was a great improvement over the Shaker 1000. The sound improvment is excellent and the expanded use (iPod, Sirius, etc...) are well worth it. I just have an inexpensive Kenwood that I got to go with the retro look of the car (until I can convince the wife the Avic is a necessity ).

Avic-z1/z2 is always needed. You life it not complete without it I to couldnt stand the lack of highs. It almost made me ears hurt!

How does the Shaker 500 do with just adding a sub?

The bass isnt bad IMO....as I said the highs just arent there at all. Replacing the speakers will help this alot but I noticed a huge difference when i put the Z1 in.

I had a standard audio system, not a shaker, did not want the bass, I changed all the speakers to Infinity's and made all the difference in the world, sound much better. In the future might upgrade HU
