My rear wheels aren't centered!

My rear wheels aren't centered!
Well I've never really check to see if the wheels were evenly spaced in the wheel wells, but today as I was walking out to my car I noticed the passenger side wheel looked to far back compared to the drivers side. I measured my lower control arms, since they are adjustable and they are exactly the same length. The passenger side rear tire is almost 1/2 inchback compared to the drivers side in relation to the front edged of the wheel well. I'm measureing from the front edge to the center of the wheel by the way.
Is this normal? Clearly I want the control arms the same length, but how can i make sure the wheels are going down the road straight?

Right, that's what I want to do. Surely one of the geniuses here knows where to measure. The factory control arms are the same length.

interesting....i wonder how we could
make sure the axle is square, with relation to
the frame rails...

You can accomplish the same measurement by measuring from the front of the front rim to the front of the back rim. Assuming your front and back rims are the same diameter, this measurement will be the same as measuring from center to center. Depending on the rims and if there is a spot to stick the end of the tape measure, you might be able to do this yourself.
This won't necessarily prove 100% that your rear end is square to the frame of the carbut it should get you pretty close. We would be betting that thethe front end is square to the car.
Edit: P.S.Make sure your front tires are as straight as possible. If they are turned a little to the left or the right, your measurements would be different.
