I'm not sure if he ever took itto the track for a full 1/4 run; primarily it was in 'one stoplight to the next' runs on the street (0-60 type stuff). I suspect that in a full 1/4 once the GT hit about 3.5k in 3rd it'd be goodnight, Irene.

His Sixer could run mid-high 13's? I have gone 13.7's in my stock GT (at the track) and I'm sure I could go faster with a lot more practice.

Careful with those sixers; looks can be deceiving.
Especially of you see 2 tailpipes.
My brother had a V6 that he put ~$2k into and ate stock GTs for lunch in light-to-light dashes.
Then he traded it in for a GT and put a heckuva lot more into that.

"Especially of you see 2 tailpipes."
tailpipes mean nothing, dual exhaust has the same performance as single exhaust with the exception of 1-2 hp more.
the V6 engine has alot of potential.

Maybe he means that it's FI.. most people that go with FI have duals.. Not necessarily the other way around.. but it would be embarrassing for a dude in a GT to get smoked by a 6er with a turbo or xcharger..

Okay, okay, before all the Sixer contingency goes up in arms, let me explain. As I was on my way to the store a few hours ago, I notice a S197 V-6 coming up fast behind me. As the driver moved in the right hand lane to draw next to me, the traffic light turns red. Can't see the driver through the very dark tint(the car is a black non-pony package V-6) andthe driver isjust revving and revving, so I say, "what the heck" let's see how ugly it's gonna get. Light turns green, Iinstantly get about 2 cars and I noticed the V-6 is a stick car(the nose dived and roseon the 1-2 shift) and by the next light(I had more than a10car lead), the driver lowers the window(it's a cute latina) and says to me, "I wanted to see how much faster your car was than mine". Too bad she looked like a high-schooler.....she was very cute!
Don't mean to rag on the V-6, was just an encounter that was bound to happen. I guess this was my reason for going V-8 in the first place, I guess if a GT500 was around, I'd be curious to see how much faster too. Although(correct me if I'm wrong), a well driven GT would be closer to a GT500 than a well driven V-6 to a GT, why do you guys think?
