Talk me out of gears! Dont want to void warranty.
Changing gears is the apitamy of NO MORE WARRANTY. I paid $1500 for the 75K warranty.
Ugh but gears are 'my kinda thing'. And its killing me to be torn between getting gears and.... not.
And off topic: My loudmouths are loud. How much louder will a CAI make it? They're already at my tolerable limit.

Your warranty will not void!! Ford must prove that the aftermarket part installed caused failure to your car. So if your get gears, your gears will no longer be under warranty, but everything else will be. The part must be the cause of your failure for your warranty to not be in place

Your gears are going to void....your gears, thats it. If your engine blows, steering wheel falls off, stereo breaks, horn dont work, gas tank falls off, ect...... it is all still waranteed. If your gears "break", they are not waranteed.

no, you do not adjust your gear ratio.

I guess that's sort-of true... but don't gears also force you to run a tune so that you can adjust gear ratio? Or can you adjust gear ratio on the factory tune using the xcal2?

Get the remainder of your money back onyour extended warranty. Then you can use it to pay for the gear install. I got an extended warranty on my 99 ford ranger, changed my mind 2 months later and got almost all my money back. Extended warranties are a scam like insurance.
