Default Shaker1000 who here has it and should it get it

As some of you know I'm going to build a pretty decent 08mustang gt when I get back from Iraq. I was wondering who has the shaker 1000 and should i get it. Thanks!

I like it. It sound good and can make more noise than I care to listen to. It has good base and it fits well in the trunk of the car. My only beef has been I believe one of the speakers in the sub-woofer in the trunk is blown. Ford should replace it but I haven't gone in yet.

Some guys prefer the do it your self method but I choose this way.

Have a shaker 500 and it is ok for a stock system. I would go after market but it was included in my package. I would get the 500 if I was you just to get the enclousres in the doors. If you want audiofile sound definatly go after market. Also the shaker cd player leaves much to be desired. Skipps and pauses between continuous tracks.

i enjoy my shaker1000.origanilly i wasn't going to get it i kept telling myself i'll just get the after market options.i ended up getting it though mainly because i would rather just keep it stock looking and spend the extra cash on power mods plus for my moneys i enjoy it and hasn't bothered me one bit.but if i had/have the extra cash i would go with after market

I have the 500 just because it came with the car but it really isn't a bad system at all. I haven't had any of the CD skipping problems that others have had but it is possible I got a newer model of Shaker since I have an 07. I think it's worth it to get the 500 to get the door subs but I'm an aftermarket kinda guy when it comes to trunk subs.

I've never understood why they use 2 amps to power the 2 trunk subs.

I would recommend the std radio (no shaker) just so you don't get the enclousres in the doors. They are major ugly and stick way out like no other vehicle made today. JMO, but check out door panels w/o them. I can add pics when I get home.

Ever had your window knocked out while going to the movies, club, bar etc?
Aftermarket will only lure criminals to your ride, the shaker 1000 is descent enough for $1000 extra bones on my msrp IMO, plus it has a warranty to boot. I've had plenty of aftermarket systems and as for quality, they all go to crap after 5 or 6 years. My dad's 93 lightning still has the factory deck that works. JMO

I like mine but I'm notmuch for building my own system like when I was younger. For somebody who wants to build one, go for it. There's some awesome stuff out there. The Shaker 1000 sure won't hurt when you go to trader her off.
