I pay $805 per year with AAA. I'm 30 with zero points and zero claims in my life.
For those of you paying through the nose with zero points.......how many claims have you made in your life? If you ever make an insurance claim for anything that is insured.....that claim is forever on your "claim history record". Even if you made a claim against an insurance rider on some jewelry......it will affect ALL your future insurance policies including automotive.
That might explain why some of you continue to get hosed. If you have never made a claim then you might want to shop around.

Insurence rates vary state by state..and the all use different formulas to calculate rates. Its just a mess and almost impossible to predict what your gonna get. Im from Jersey and I pay 1400 a year to gieco. Im 26 and have a clean record. And to me that was great...first company I went to wanted 3200.

Your paying to much. At 38 with your driving record you should be paying no more than 1200 a year for you GT.IMO

38 years old, never had a ticket, perfect driving record for 20+ years. I pay $2700 a year on my 2007 GT/CS and$1400 a year on my 1997 Cavalier Z-24. Full coverage on both.

Edit: And have never had a claim, ticket, etc. Only times I have ever even been stopped by the police has been driving through road checks and then one time about 30 minutes after I bought the Mustang - the plate wasn't in the system yet and was coming up unassigned. Checked my registration and license and by the time he took them back to his cruiser the plate was showing as assigned. I guess police just don't find me interesting, even though I have hair down to the small of my back and look like I just stole the car.

Insurance varies for so many reasons: location (both what city and where in the city you live), driving record, age, driving usage, and of course the car itself. You can get discounts for safety features like ABS and airbags. Howeverif you don't like what you are paying forinsurance, then shop around and see what other insurance companies will charge you. Trying to compare what you pay to what someone else pays, leaves too many variables open. If you don't already have Progressive, you can use their website to compare the price ofa few difference insurance companies.
