Does this sound right for 4.10s?
I went by a local speed shop here in town, the only one I trust and this is what I was quoted:
Ford Racing 4.10 gears for 269.99
Shim and Bearing Kit for 94.99
60/hour of installation, aprox. 3-4 hrs.
He also said that he would throw in the lube for free and recommended Mobil1 plus some additive (I cant remember the name) that ford makes.
I really like this shop and from what Ive heard they do good work. Only reputable shop in town.
Any info would be appreciated

You said it all in your own post when you said "the only shop I trust"
That speaks volumes and is more important than saving a few pennies IMO. I would rather spend a couple more dollars with a shop I can count on. Far more important, but that's just me.
However, I have to ask, if you 'trust' them, why are you asking if they are ripping you off or not? Doesn't sound like a lot of trust to me.

I guess I shouldnt have used the word "trust" since I dont have first hand expierence with them since this will be my first time dealing with them. However from what I have heard they are very trustworthy and overall I got a very good impression from the owner. That being said, I didnt think I was getting ripped off, I just wanted to verify with some people on here that have had expierence with this matter . And I totally do not mind having to pay a little extra to know that the job will be done right the first time around. On another note regarding the gear lube, Ive heard a lot of people using the Royal Purple for the gears but I remember reading something about having to use some sort of additive. Has anyone used the Mobil 1 gear lube?
