Default valve cover removal

Can't look at the valve covers any longer. How long should it take to remove them ?How much is a new gasket set ,and should i go to ford to get them.Is the harness or any other parts in the way,or will they clear everything.I think i will have them powdercoated black.

Check the above link for step by step. You don't need new gaskets, the urethane ones are reusable.

I just got mine powder coated crome and they look great. Either way it will be an upgrade to those ugly valve covers

They are pretty simple to do, I painted mine black and added "FORD RACING" decals on after the paint. When reinstalling cover the valve covers with masking tape to prevent scratches. Total time for removal, cleaning, painting and reinstall 8 hours. Reused gaskets, with no leaks.

It took me about 45 minutes to remove the valve covers but that was taking my time. I also spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to remove the passenger's side without removing the battery. If you read the instructions and are well prepared, you should be able to get them off in about 20-30 minutes.
