Engine life?
The one thing not really mentioned here is engine life of a S/C engine. Does the amount of boost effect engine life? IE: 5 pounds of boost and the engine will last 100k and 12 pounds it will only last 50k. Or is it not as simple as that? fd

Go with the FRPP Wipple (Have ford intall it and you can have a warranty) :-)
Roush will pickup the ford warranty but only upto 110hpbecause the tunes aresafe and will not cause engine problems. the higher the HP with a bad tune will blow your engine
I am working on plans to get the Wipple... By far the best choice.
If I can't raise that much I may go with Saleen.

and here is what it says about the HO version: http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...tkeyfield=9765
I might be ignorant, but it seems to me that both non-H.O. andH.O. say "no warranty". Show me differsnt........Oh yeah, you can't!!

RE: kenne bell or whipple?
[*]Fits 2005-2006 Mustang GT with MANUAL or AUTOMATIC transmission[*]Produces 400hp with 93 octane at approximately 5psi of boost[*]Kit includes intake manifold supercharger, drive belt, and all other accessories for installation of the supercharger[*]Includes Pro-Cal tool voucher with official Ford Racing calibration[*]Premium fuel required[*]E.O. #D-231-24[*]Installation of this kit will void your new vehicle engine warranty[*]Engine calibrations are developed and supported for U.S. and Canadian vehicles only
Ok I stand Corrected... My local FRPP Dealer stated they would warranty the 400hp install (with a 3500.00 Install Cost)
but not the 500HP version.

RE: kenne bell or whipple?
If you have $7,000 to blow on a s/c you'd better have some jack to cover a new motor...If you had a honda or acura or infinity do you think they'd cover your vehicle after putting a turbo/supercharger on it?

When you start getting into big boost, believe it or not, the vast majority of the failures are not in the rotating assembly but in the valve train.
The bigger the boost, the bigger the risk and if any shop tells you that you can run 800 rwhp with a built bottom end without crap breaking is LYING TO YOU. Sure, get a built bottom end and it might hold up, but then something else is going to break - garunteed. Have to pay to play and that's just the way it is. If you beleive other or believe you can have an indesctructible set-up - you are kidding yourself.
Anyone from John Force to the old timer at the local track will tell you there is 'ALWAYS A WEAK LINK' - no matter what...
Most guys who cross the 500 rwhp mark find out really quick that our drive train and transmissions are the first thing to go after a rebuild. I've said it before and I'll say it again - if you think all you need is a forged rotating assembly to be fast - you are in for a shocker and a hit to your wallet cause no matter what anybody tells you - the rebuild is only the beginning of an expensive hobby.
