Unless you have buttloads of torque, starting off in 2nd gear only adds to the wear

I got my brakes done under waranty at 11k miles on my last car (2001 Grand Prix GTP). I live in Germany and drove the autobahn up to 150 mph and down again alot, so not a surprise that the brakes were gone fast, but my friendly service center got it covered.
Just depends if they want to throw you a bone or not. They can cover (almost) anything under warranty on a low miles carif they want to. The service guys just haveto find a (good sounding) reason for the warranty people.

According to the warranty info on ford's site, the 12K thing only pertains to tires... Either way its behidn me now and my car is back and drives awesome.
I feel ripped off but whatever, its behind me now.

yes, it's always better to purchase the extended warranty AFTER you've used the car for the period of the standard warranty. That $1250 could have been put into a CD or bond... or just bought a good dividend paying stock. You could make over $180 in a CD paying just 5%. get a 10% yearly return and that number goes to almost $400! Instead. if you financed it you'll end up paying more than $1500 after the 4 or 5 years.
Only time to get one is if you pay cash and talked the dealer down as low as possible on both the car and extended warranty.
BTW, have you seen how little those cost on Hondas?

If you bought your vehicle from the same dealer who replaced your clutch --who is now saying "... how perfect the rest of the car [is] ...", seems to me that you're being taken advantage of.
Keep an eye on the vehicle. If other problems arise prematurely, it may be best to swap the vehicle out for another one.
