Painting valve covers question

Painting valve covers question
For those who have painted their valve covers I have a few questions.
1. I bought high temp (1200 degree) primer to start with, do I need to sand either the primer or the paint between coats?
2. I purchased high temp (1200 degree) engine paint, I noticed that they had (500 degree) engine paint. Will the higher temp paint produce a nice glossy finish or should I have setteled for the lower temp paint?
3. Do I need to finish it off with clear coat or will 5-6 coats of paint be sufficient?
Thanks for your input, I'd like to do this right the first time.
Also I chose Ford Blue, any pictures of your covers would be appriciated.

RE: Painting valve covers question
I have done a valve cover paint project and I can answer ur questions as this......
The only priming I did was to the raw service of the valve cover. Used a Scott scuffer pad and it cleaned and primed the surface great!! Then did (2) coats of 500 degree caliper paint. No more coats, no clear and no priming between coats. It came out beautiful!!! Some guys on here did do more than (2) coats so its just a matter of how much time you want to spend and how glossy you want
Good luck, you will love the way it turns out!!!
