Default If your hurst is rattling a bit, my solution

My shifter started rattling around 3000 rpm, so after making sure everything was tight, I realized the shifter has no cushion from the pivot ball to the stick. So what worked for me was to remove the shift boot and dust shield and puta good amount ofgrease on the stick were it enters the pivot ball, I moved it up and down a few times and so far so good ( 2 weeks no rattling). If anyone else is having the same problem, you might try this. out

The most common problem related to the "rattle" is the 2 bolts that connect the chrome part to the actual shifter. Over time the bolts work themselves loose. I put loctite on mine last summer and haven't had any probs with the "rattle" since.

Mine started to rattle after a couple of months at 3k rpm. Had put locktite everywhere, including the chrome stick.

The locktite..........stuff is a good idea, I went to Lowes hardware dept. and got some as I remember 5/8" fine thread nuts and tightened the on the other side...............no rattles, no working loose..........
