Shelby GT500 For $44,000

RE: Shelby GT500 For $44,000
Spitzer Ford in Hartville, Ohio, has at least 10, yes 10 Shelby GT 500 coupes/convertables, all marked up 20K over sticker. I about crapped myself when I saw this many Shelbys in one location.

I think that there are way too many GT500's that have been made and will be made to command that kind of price. Surely the market forces will take over at some point and the prices will get reasonable.

Mark up was most likely not on the sticker, depends on how rich, how desperate, or how stupid you look to the dealer. Saw a Shelby GT with no markup on the sales floor, asked the dealer if we would sell it to me at sticker, dealer said +20K. Wait a year, they will drop.

Ill buy one at sticker, hell I'll take 2 at that price. When I went to get mine they were going 40 over sticker. I stuck with the GT, which wasn't a bad compromise for 30 rather than the 80k+ asking.

Anyone see GT500's "piling up" on dealers' lots? (LOL). A dealer is doing good to have even one sitting around at any given time. Also, Ford doesn't tell the dealers to mark them up - the buyers do. If no one was willing to pay the premium, then there would be no premium.
Right now, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one for around +$8k-$12k. With few exceptions, that's about as low as they'll go.

The law of 'supply and demand' has been in effect since dirt. Just like the law of gravity. When the demand goes down and the supply goes up,
(either or both) the price will come down. I have been following the prices for quite awhile and they are starting to fall.

I've seen them "piling" up on lots. The fact that they're not all presold or bought up, and that the dealer's who I've called simply to inquire have been calling me everyday to push them says that they're not all just flying out the door. I don't know if they'll ever get to sticker, but I'm sure they will be able to be had for no more than 50K at some point. Especially if the Challenger and the Camaro start flying out the doors...

When that ugly **** KR comes out it'll draw some attention away from the 500... The price will meet MSRP eventually they are not selling for what dealers are asking.
The 500's that are selling are going for 5-8k over right now, next year it will be 2-3k over or at MSRP.

Hey Callahan, I'm from that area as well. Spitzer has a person who's job it is to sell only GT500's. They buy them from dealerships all over the country for 10-15K over sticker then sell them for 20K over sticker. Most of the time they don't even reach Spitzer, they are drop shipped to a customer.
