Most companies don't use leather on the entire seat........not just Ford.

This thread is rather confusing, so... is it possible to get a leather covered dash board? Instead of the fake plastic with leather patern?
The armrest and center console are definitly imitation leather, but they are way better than fake plastic...

The only leather is on the seating surfaces.
and the best way to tell if it's all leather is to sit in a brand new Mustang Premium! Take a whiff! Smell like leather? No? Now go to any other dealership that has cars WITH real leather... you know, all those cars that cost $35,000+. That's what real leather smells like.
Might as well go with a Deluxe model and add your own custom designed seat covers later. You sure don't need the Shaker 500 either!

Companies use vinyl and leather together because vinyl requires less maintainence to retain it's color and feel. 100% leather seats are extremely high maintainence if you want to keep them looking good long term.
I'm not saying I wouldn't appreciate Ford using 100% leather on the seats.....but I am not your average Joe when it comes to maintainence. It's in Ford's best interest to keep the largest population of customers happy and since the largest population of customers will never clean and condition the seats.......
Let's just say vinyl is more 'average Joe' friendly for lasting durability.

According to the brochure and to the Ford Packaged Options listing, the GT with Premier trim (requires Interior Upgrade Package) comes with leather seating surfaces, both front and rear. The only other leather is a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
