Hah, go figure. Good job Ford.

Maybe this explains why some 05 GT guys are putting down all of 260RWHP stock...

your right...FORD always FAQHS UP.... i still love um but .....this says it all
According to sources, the defective cylinder heads will have an adverse effect on performance and will cause the engine to fail to meet Ford's specifications
meaning those 4.6 aren't gonna make 300hp
thats pisses me off...but maybe thats why i have to wait till march for my 05 vert

over here in England on a rolling road we take the @wheel figure and add approx 15% for front wheel drive or 20% rear wheel drive (transmission losses) to attain the flywheel figure, working on this they make more than the 300bhp that Ford state

Mine is running fine. How would you know if you have a problem? Is this the case with every engine made or just some in particular? Does this explain why the GT model isn't out there in great numbers? Why does every magazine speak such high marks of the car?

I just spoke with my service manager where my car was purchased and he said that he has heard of the same rumour but he said it isn't the heads that are in question but rather the horsepower. He said one place ran a dyno check on the mustang and they are disputing it. If it is indeed true than they will make the necessary changes to the manifold and exhaust to make sure the horsepower is what it is specified to be and the changes will be in June or July 2005. He also stated that he has heard that the engine is actually more than 300 horsepower. Also on another subject we talked about the my color scheme and it's true that ford will have to settle with this patent that was made. I hope this helps some of the others that were in question of these subjects.
