Default Just tried the IPOD

jack thingy in the console last night. It works great. No distortion or static. It is the real deal. It renders the CD player just about useless for me.

Can you post a pic of where that is in an 07? I have an '06 and did the PIE adapter, I just have a pair of RCA's run into my center console via that little panel that pops out. I'd like to actually mountsome sort of jacksomewhere, but I'm not sure of what the factory install looks like.

Thanks!

It's in the center console. I'll find a pic if somebody else doesn't beat me to it.....

Well, I don't have a camera so I will try to explain. In the center hump door/arm rest, there is an aux. power plug in, and just a regular ear phone jack thingy. I plugged in an extension jack/plug wire, that is the same on both ends. Theplug is the same thing as what is on your head phones only it has 2 ends. Had to switch the radio to input, jack up the volume on the IPOD, then control the volume with the regular **** on the Shaker 500. Had to use the advance button to change song on the IPOD if I wanted to skip ahead to other songs.

It's an MP3 jack, so you're not just limited to an iPod. Of course, you can't controlthe iPodvia the headunit either. The jack is inside the console next to the 12v outlet.

TOTALLY worth it. I have a Monster FM transmitter (like $90, so it's a good one), but there was still alternator whine in the signal, and the bass was WEAK. The PIE adapter was a CAKE install, and it's awesome. Make sure to get a couple of vampire taps for power and ground, it'll save you lots of headache trying to splice the stuff in. I ran RCA's from it into the inside of the console through that rectangular knockout thing. I'm going to go get a stereo RCA to 1/8" stereo adapter and mount that up in the console then if that's the factory location.
