other people have removed it to install a hood scoop also, if anyone is interested.

I took mine off to try to fix the cheesey hoodscoop that is sticking up on the 2 rear corners! I got the hood cover off with the Fork - and it is staying off now.

No solution on the hood scoop yet though! I am about ready to glue it!

For those curious how it looks like without the insulator..

Here's my friend's GT, sans the insulator. He's had it like this for months (daily driver) with no effects from the heat.



Even the Saleen/PJ doesn't come with a hood liner.

interesting. i like the looks of the underside of the hood better. i'm also wondering about the sound increase. i think i might do it as well.
