How can I get rid of unsightly holes for license plate frame?
My new California Special came with a crappy dealer frame for the front license plate. On removing it, I discovered that two ugly holes had been made in the front section of the car. Leaving the bolts in -- minus dealer frame -- looks marginally better and I have a custom-made frame (obtained through this excellent board) that will hook under the spoiler and cover the offending area if I decide to install it rather than risk getting pulled by John Law.
However...if I decided to leave the front plate-less, is there any good way to patch and repaint these nasty blemishes in my otherwise pristine black V8? The guy in my local body shop thinks not but that might be because he can't be bothered with non-Euro automobiles.

In CT we have to have front license plates (ugh) - but, at least my dealer offered me the option of installing the front license plate frame myself - so far I havent done it, so no holes yet - I hate the thought...

i have the two holes also, but i dont think they're THAT noticable, unless its under close inspection. No one's ever noticed/commented on them. But i would like to know a convenient way to cover them

At Pepboys and Autozone at the section were they have all the HELP! items there are black things that cover holes and what not for other cars. I got two gloss black ones.
You could drill the bumper alittle so they sit more flat than mine.
I just stuck mine in.
Here is a bad picture of my bug stained bumper (bugs are horrible here at night now)
The left one has some fuzz from a wash mit.

We don’t have front license plates where I live but when we bought a new car a few years ago the dealer had put the standard front plate mount on the car. I removed it and filled the two holes with some small round flat head plastic interior fasters that are used to hold interior panels in some cars. You can find them in most auto parts stores. I painted them the body color and because the head is so flat they looked pretty good.
