Have any of you changed the white shift ball to the black one available from Hurst? What thread pattern is it? Part # from Hurst? any help appreciated. I saw one of you put the old style T handle on - what thread count/pattern or part # did you order?

Love the Hurst ... CHE K member brace and torque limiters solved the 3rd gear issue

Unless you've been living under a rock, the best shifter for the S197 Mustangs in made by MGW. No comparison.

Yes MGW is best but after shipping its $300.. May as well get the Hurst and save some cash. In the end a shifter is a shifter.

Keep in mind that one guy on here said he specifically ordered the FRPP hurst and it DID NOT include the stick or ball.... So you may want to play it safe and order the actual Hurst, and not the FRPP relabel.

As for some who say they have trouble finding gears...... I had trouble with the stock shifter, with the Hurst the gears find themselves perfectly, I don't have to focus on it anymore.

MGW for $252 after shipping isn't too bad..... But again, you'll need to want THE BEST to spend the extra $$$. The Hurst, at $200 shipped from many places, does a great job. I guess if you have money to blow then may as well get the MGW.

I have the FRPP and had it installed by a dealer to keep warranty and absolutely love it. The ball came scratched, which I wanted another one so I'm ordering one this time that says Hurst on it. The one that comes with the FRPP one doesn't say hurst on the ball, just the stick. Short and notchy, gah I love that shifter.
