Man, what a difference! It's like a whole new car, shifts better, sounds better, and more horsepower. Got a question though, might be a dumb one, but anyways, is it unusual for the car to run hotter than stock or should I have them adjust the tune? I didn't really notice the increase until I was doing some stop light driving under hard acceleration.

you might add some red line water wetter to your
coolant system, to help compensate for any
additional heat the leaned out tune may be creating

It did fine most of the day during normal driving. Maybe I was just running it too hard starting and stopping and not really getting any air across the motor. I'll take it out tonight and cruise around and see what happens.

According to the graphs, about 21hp on the 87oct tune. They gave me a 93oct tune to use once I burn the 87 gas up and switch, they claim will add another 5-10hp?

I was registering 261hp at the wheels before, 282 after.

Thanks. I was curious. Another post showed that the Ford Racing CAI / Tune measured 281 HP on the dyno. Maybe the Brenspeed is a little better.

Well the 281 is not the FRPP tune it would be the custom tune I would think. I think the higher oct gas will give you more beacause 21 for a custom dyno tune is on the low end.

Was the 261 competely stock?

The 261 was completely stock before the CAI & custom tune. The guy at the dyno shop told me had a gain of 30hp, but the numbers I saw reflected 282, not 290 or so, but I may not have been looking at the chart/numbers right. He told me I could see as much as 10 more hp with the 93.

Either way, it has made one hell of a difference, and I haven't even tried the 93oct tune yet. That will be tomorrow when I run all of the 87oct out. The car responds a heck of a lot better, shifts harder (I have an auto), and has a more pronounced growl to it when you are WOT.

I ran it around tonight, even drove it pretty hard and the temp never went up. Maybe it was just a fluke or something. All I know, the CAI & tune has let the beast out in this thing.

Will they have to redyno tune you once you go to the 93 octane tune? Will the A/F ratio change much, if at all with the change in timing?
