Sound Deadener
I recently installed a pair of MAC Boom Tubes on my wife's '06 GT. Needless to say Ive got some drone to contend with. Any one out there ever install some type of sound deadener (Dynamat, FatMat, eDead, etc.) in their trunk? Any advice would be appreciated!

I've read that insulation materials don't really help as much as one would like, and definately not as much as is worth the price... Your best bet is to install resonators before the mufflers, of course after the H pipe, and these should take all of the drone away.

Honestly, I think you'll be a lot better off finding an exhaust you like rather than trying to cover up the sound you don't like.
I've got a buddy who is going through the whole Dynamat route because he picked up a lot of NVH through his aftermarket suspension components (even though he used the poly ends). Close to 200 lbs. of sound deadening [:@].
He's installing it now - be glad to report back if you're still interested.

Which type of Dynamat did you use, Regular or Extreme? How much did you use and did you just install in the trunk area? I love the sound of my Boom Tubes but I'd like to take out some of the drone that occurs at certain rpms. Otherwise jusr cruisin around town is not a problem.

The problem with insulation like dynamat is the sound is still there and is still be pounded against your car, the material just quiets it a little.
What you want is for the sound to not exist in the first place. Resonators would work great, but muffling the annoying rpm range that drones. You'll get a much deeper tone out of the exhaust also. It won't be quieter, we wouldn't want that, just deeper as the higher drone-ish frequency is caught.
I'd invest in 2 aero stealth resonators maybe, orany performanceresonator. I had great experience with flowmaster's hushpower resonators, but they have some obstructions on the inside so you may not want something that might cause a little backpressure. They're awesome though.
Anyways, good luck.
