They're actually 275/35/18's

I've been running 17's till now. I have a connection that gets me scuffed/qualifying tires from a World Challenge team - hence the switch
Holy 1970s! Those are 1.4" shorter in height than stock! (25.6 v 27")

@Viking

Did you notice any difference in handling the car? Thanks for the pics, one from the rear would be nice

Thats not unusual for track tires. Most of the guys I know run 275/40/17 on 17x9.
Its a common available size in R Compound. I suspect thats what he used to run.
Not much call for overly tall tires for the track.

S197 Suspension can only be lowered 1.5" without geometry getting screwy.
How do you get it lower? Shorter tires.

Well if you want to keep the stock ride height you could run a 265-55-17 that is made for rims between 7.5-9.5". It is 28.5" tall and 10.4" wide.

This is about 1.3" taller than the stock 235's but there is plenty of room in the wheel well for it. There are some guys running 28.8" tall tires on 20" rims at stock ride height with no problems at all. I might try 2 of these from the rear when the stockers are done.

I think you can actuallyrun that on a lowered car with no problems. I have 275-40-20 (28.7") on mine, and it looks like there's still a little more room.
