Splash guards on GT/CS (w/ pics, lots of pics)
After doing some research I discovered that the GT/CS rear fascia w/ air diffuser is the same as the one on the GT500, just painted differently ( the blacut on the side is body color on the CS)
I decided that for $12.50, this would be a good mod.
If you want to add these without taking off the wheel, you will need a right-angle phillips screw driver
sorry about any blur. Iwas playing with the wide angle lens on my D80
Before I began:
So then I removed the screws hoding the fascia to the fender (trust me, it won't fall off), and then I washed and waxed the area the splash guard would cover.
Then I clipped it onto the bumper (the clip is on the splash guard) and replaced the screws
After:
So there you are. They don't draw the eye at all. In fact, I would say the car looks better with them on. Plus, it's a nice, cheap mod that will save you from scrubbing off any splash back you may get.

Actually, just go to your Ford dealer. $12.50 for the pair there. All I could find online was the molded rubber ones for the regular GT for $32, which IMO are ugly.
And before you ask, yes, they will also fit a Shelby GT and the GT-H

Thanks for sharing that pic!
It looks like that's how your Cal Special should come from the factory!
In the last of your pics you show what looks like a clip that works with the litte square hole in the splash guard. Where did that clip come from? Already on your car?
Where you see the white showing through the hole- is that light or your white paint. I'm assuming it's the paint as these seem to fit much closer on your CS than on my GT, where they stick out more.
I might see if I can reshape another pair of these to fit regular GTs, maybe drill new holes and trim more off the inside edge...

Orion,
This may sound strange to you as you have the same parts, but the clip came on the splash guards when I ordered them from Ford. It seems like its aluminum, so you might be able to find something similar at a hardware store if you were so inclined. I doubt that would be necessary though, all it does is clip around the bumper to hold the guard in place while you screw it on.
And yes, the white you see is my paint.
