Default A/C has a stale water smell to it.

This may be a question off from my usual direction of modding everything in sight on my car, but for some reason my baby's smelling ridiculously badly any time the A/C takes in air from the outside.

Is there any sort of diagram for where the intake for the Air Conditioning system is? If there is anything on it, it would be an easy clean up.

Is this a known problem?

Sounds like maybe some mold or other ickys in the system. You can try replacing the cabin air filter and then do this each time...

Just as you are about to park the car for the night, turn off the A/C and place the control in the VENT position. This will allow the system to dry out. Do this each time and you should not have the problem.

I have had 4 mice's in 4 different cars over the years. They get in through the fresh air intake then die in the heater.

If you normally leave it on recirc, that is the problem. After awhile it will cause mold in the system. A/C's should be left on the "fresh" setting and the recirc. setting used only when necessary. If you don't normally leave in on recirc., then just forget anything I typed....
