Problem with Granetelli CAI?

Problem with Granetelli CAI?
My friend has a 2006 GT and the only mod he has on the car is the Granetelli cold air intake with the different MAF sensor. The other day he was driving and the car started to idle real low and actually died on him. He said the wrench light came on but when he started the car back up it was gone. The car drove fine for a while and since then it has happened a couple other times. If anyone else has had similar problems with this setup could you chime in and let me know if there is an easy fix or if he is going to have to take the intake off and go to the dealership. Thank you for any help you can give.

Did that already, everything is tight and installed properly. We're going to put the stock box back on and see if it still does the same thing. I just can't see why it would do something like this.

If I recall, Granatelli saysNOT TOoil their filters. I have a Granatelli system too but only had problems the first time I installed the intake. You need to get a scope on your car and see what codes are coming up. It may not be the intake...

RE: Problem with Granetelli CAI?
I didn't have problems with it at all. I had in on a little over six months. I still use the CAI, but got a Brenspeed tuned XCAL and replaces the MAF and took out the piggy back module. I would check that module for a good connection and also check to make sure that the pins in the connector are not loose.
And these air filters are dry filters. You do not oil them.

RE: Problem with Granetelli CAI?
I will tell him not to oil the filter, he's had the intake on the car for a little over 2 months and just recently started having problems. I just talk to him and he's just going to put the stock box back on and take it to the dealership. If they say nothing is wrong he's going to see if the maf that came with the intake is bad. I hope it all works out because I was the one that suggested this setup for his car because he didn't want to get a custom tune.
