Check out the Pony-less and Fog-less grill, and what looks like HID headlights!

Looks a little tame to me to be a special edition. I think it would be cooler if they used the 3dCarbon GT Styling Kit side skirts and rear bumper cover (3dCarbon is licensed by Ford)

I believe HID headlights are an option for 2008

I doubt it's a special edition. Those look like rims anybody can order from Ford. And it's sure not hard to order without the spoiler. Looks to me like somebody just ordered it with the options they wanted. And why would Bullit edition come in red?

Lat page of the second link...

Our friends at Popular Mechanics tipped us off to new shots by Jim Dunne that they've posted on their website. The pics depict a "mystery" Mustang being trailered around Detroit, but the first thing we thought when laying eyes on them was: Bullitt. Dunne would have paid no mind to the car if not for the covered-up faux gas cap on the rear end, which obviously means there's something to hide there.

For us, the black wheels and the ponyless, lightless grille have us all but certain that this is indeed the Bullitt. Take those two elements, replace the photo car's finish with Highland Green, and friends, you have the modern iteration of Frank Bullitt's trusted steed. Kudos to Ford for being clever. By not overly disguising it and using the red paint as... well... a red herring, the car hides in plain sight unless you know what to look for.
Remember for awhile they tested the GT500 in standard GT trim.

Theres no way thats a special edition car, at least not how it looks. Its basically a GT with less options: No fogs, no spoiler, and ugly *** rims.

Gee, let me go get my checkbook.

My point is... even if it were faster... Who would pay more for it when it looks like a cheaper version of a GT? 'Not I' said ohnoesaz. Because theres more to life than speed, duh, like daily driving and looking good.

This car, in this form, would not cut it.

maybe its a GTS, the cheapest version of the stang, like the sn95s that had cloth interior and no AC, a more affordable version

i think it looks good and simple, you guys are right maybe a gts version, or a bullit if they tested in dark green it would be a give - a - way

Looks like a standard GT with black bullit rims, a spoiler delete, and no front grills. As for the emblem being covered up... so is the drivers seat, so what?

Ill wait til Ford releases authentic pictures rather than trying to piece together spy shots and use my imagination for the rest.
