found out cost for custom CUT OUTS install...
he guys.. i was at a muffler shop today wiht my freind who was installed super 40's on his toyota tundra..and asked them how much it would be to install the pipes for cutouts and told them i could do the electrical..
they said 60 all together.. they will make the pipes.. no need to buy them..
BUTTT..
for some reason the guy wiht alot of experience with cutouts, said that it would sound like crap.. like..reallly cheap..
at this point i almost dont care, just want more noise..
what do you guys think?

I hear ya man, I like the loud growl too. I pulled the mufflers off my GT a week after I got her, just to see what it sounded like. Crap is a pretty accurate description. Sounded totally like an old beater pickup or something. The mufflers went right back on. Get a set of SLP Loudmouths, sound good but expensive. A muffler shop would be able to fab you a set of glass packs that might not sound too bad. They could test fit them and you can hear them before they weld them up.

well hears the only reason that im gettin cutouts..
i am unable to get a real exhuast or axle back righ tnow bc im at home and the parents dont want to have any louder exhuast then what i have now..
so the cut outs allow me to have loud exhuast and turn them back to stock when i get home..
its the perecft solution wiht out the quality of sound..
i think i may still do it.. like maybe this week.. adn then just leave them manual and make sure i like the sound produced.. and then wehn i get some more money, i will order the motors and what not..
i think it will sounds some what good.. better hten being quiet IMO.. and this way i can allways wiht the touch of a button switch back to stock mode..
also.. i just installed my intake and tune..and it REALLY added some deepness to the exhaust.. i love how it sounds now.. but its could still be alot louder..

I think its a bad idea... Not feelin the whole cutouts thing.
Do your parents watch you like a hawk? If you installed an aftermarket H pipe then it would look stock (get one with cats or one that just doesn't affect the stock cats at all). it would sound deeper and louder, but not insane... Again, it would look stock.
Perhaps the prochamber or something.

OR, you could just put on your exhaust of choice and just be mindful enough not to romp on it when around the house...just idle out of the driveway and then give her gas when away from the house...

anyways.. im not gunna do it.. foudn out its gunna sound like crap and may not work right... all this extra crap for alot of money..
probably gunna sneek an axle back on there and hope the rents dont notice..
