Am I supposed to be getting only 14.5 MPG in my V6

I live in a city...

i get to about 190 miles on a tank.when i fill up at empty usually get about 13 gallons of gas

190/13=14.6

is anyone else getting this crappy gas milage.ive never really complained about it or given it much thought since my last car got about 8mpg(camaro!),but im supposed to be getting 19 mpg.what gives or is everyone getting crappy gas mileage.i hit the highway pretty frequently but only for short distances like 4- 5 miles or so its not ALL street stop and go traffic so id think it would be higher than this

If you drive primarily in the city and spend most of your time idling and stopping and going constantly that's probably normal mpg.

Me too, except I got 29 on the highway. We only have 1 stop light here in town, but I have to negotiate 3 stop signs when going to the market. Top speed is 25 mph.

See when you guys say "I get so and so in the city" you have to explain what city you are talking about. Some cities would be suburban areas in other parts of the country compared to the CITY like NY, Boston, Washington DC where traffic congestion is a nightmare.

I live in the Hampton Roads area of VA and it is no picnic trying to get home during rush hour. A normal 15 minute ride would take you an hour and a half during those conditions. That's what kills your gas mileage.

We're just a quiet "Mayberry" kind of mountain town. It gets somewhat busy on the weekends when the tourists want to come up and give us some of their money. We'll take it.

Id have it checked out. I get 29 highway @75mph and anywhere from 20-24 around town.

14.5 sounds WAAAYYYY low.
