Default Hard to fill up

Don't know if anyone else has noticed but are you cars difficult to fill up. I have tried level, incline, different stations and all that and I can't seem to get my car to fill up very easy. My car can be empty and after only about 3 gallons the lever clicks off.

Any suggestions or thoughts or similar problems.

Commen problem with s197's, use the searchand you'll find several threads about it. Try turning the handle upside down (12 o'clock) and filling slow.

I've found it's certain filling stations that have that issue with my car. I've only had it happen 3 times in a year and always at stations I'venever stopped at before. Ford has a TSB out and from what I've heard it works.

I use to fill with the handle at the 2-3 o'clock position to get it to work. Tried something different the other day and it has worked the last two times.
Turn the handle to the 3 o'clock position, start to fill, then rotate it around to the normal 6 o'clock as you continue filling. This works for me.

I've always had this problem, and was just about to post about it today.

There are gas stations that I just don't go to anymore due to the difficulty. It seems that if the fuel delivery is fast, we're out of luck.

Either way, it was a drag all winter...had to stand out there three times longer than normal, and locking the gun and getting back in the car is a thing of the past.

I'll have to ask the guy pumping my gas if he is having a problem. We are not allowed to pump ours in Oregon.
