Interested to see of anyone has these, and how well (or not) they fit.
You can buy an entire exact replacement mirror for the same amount as they want for those covers. I went ahead and bought the mirrors ($49.00 each)and once they arrived, spent an evening sanding them down. During the week I shot them with the correct plastic primer, and then the base/clear. I had extra paint left over from my CDC chin spoiler. So I have two painted mirrors currently on the car and the orginal mirrors paked neatly away in the garage. Not only did it cost the same as covers, it allowed me to drive my car as I worked on the mirrors. BTW, the actual swap/mounting takes 10 minutes.

Actually, I bought those mirrorskins for $29 from V6mustangstuff.com.

I'm unimpressed with the quality, and thats why I'm looking to just paint the actual mirrors. The mirrorskins would look great, but its just flimsy thin plastic that goes over the mirror with double-sided tape... Someone could lightly yank and pull it right off. They just don't seem good.. I do have them ready to be painted though.

As for the midwest auto covers... They just look too aftermarket for me. I think they look awesome, I wish it came from the factory like that because its sporty and almost roadster-ish, but they look to aftermarket-ish to put on the car, for my taste.

Yes, I'll consider just buying spare mirrors and doing the project... Maybe I'll give it a try myself.

By the way... If I do it myself.... Do I use any primer after I do the adhesion promotor and final wetsand? Or is it then ready for the base coat?
