Default How to ruin brand new BFGoodrich 235/50ZR18

Picked this up in my one week old GT tire last night. Looks like the broken off end of someone’s old shock. The trouble with needing a new tire immediately is that you don’t get the best deal, so $234 later I’m good to go again.

They could have put a patch on the inside but because the object was so large many of the steel belt strands were damage so I decided to replace it and be safe. When you have speed rated Z tires, patches and plugs are not a very good solution.

Ouch! The Tire Rack has them for $100.00 a piece, I would've put the tire saver spare on until the new tire arrived to save over $100.00, but you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes[&o]
Sorry to hear about that one week old tire biting the dust the way it did[:@]

I told NTB about the Tire Rack $100 special price at the time I bought the tire so they may make an adjustment on my price. We will see!

I’m not sure a plug or patch would have been safe. It wasn’t like a nail puncture. The object made a large hole in the tire.

Yes, but you must specify it on the extended warranty you purchase from Ford, and the chances of it being used usually isn't as great as the cost is, so it's probably cheaper to just buy a new tire. Unless it was a Ford factory issue, then Ford will replace for free. I had a blow out on my '05 GT5-6 months after buying it(tire had about 5K on it) and it was due to a faulty valve-stem, tire didn't have a hole in it, it just blew all the air out of the valve-stem(while I was doing 65 on the freeway) and ruined the tire. Dealer took a look and changed it for free(I didn't opt for the tire warranty when I bought the car).
