Default NEWBIE With Questions!

I just picked up a 2006 GT with around 4500 miles on it. I am looking for some assistance with a few things. This is going to be my DD and I want to do some mods but not mess up the warranty. An intake and an exhaust is what I had in mind. I know it's probably better to go cat back than just axle back so what brand of exhaust and intake do you recommend. Also, I want to add a few billet pieces on the interior. Any particular company? Thanks in advance!!!!

You're gonna get a 100 different opinions on which exhaust to go with. Your best bet would be to go to yourtube and just search exhaust clips. Use your own judgement since good sound is different to each individual.

I agree...I can say loudmouths sound like crap, but there will be someone whos says they are the best. loudmouths are good by the way, but I was just making the point. There are a ton of exhausts threads on the board.....read a few of them

CAI and a Tune from one of the Vendors on this site is the best bang for the buck performance wise. If you need to take the car in for warranty service just put the stock air box and Ford tune back in. The Tune will wake up the car and reduce throttle lag from the "drive by wire" set up on this car.

OK realize this, exhaust system mods on a stock GT will add virtually zero HP (maybe 5 if your lucky). Anything that you will do will mainly effect the sound only. So you can go to youtube and listen if you want a louder sound. As far as HP mods, most guys start with a cold air intake and a tuner. Your gains will be about 20 to 25 HP. If you want quicker accelleration , then lower gears would be a good choice. If you want big power cheap then nitrous oxide is the way to go. Anything more than that will start costing a whole lot more.

Thanks for the replies! I guess I'll start with the intake first and see how that goes. I did notice quite a few of those too! Well I just ordered a set of mats and those hood struts from MRT. Not a bad start! And the windows were just done 20%! Looks awesome with the racing stripes. If any one else has opinions, I'm all ears......

axle back is what you want. cat-back is a waste of money

C&L now makes an insert so that their intake will run without a tune. All you need to do is put the restrictor in and you can leave the C&L on for warranty work.
