RE: auto trans mods
Sup man
Torque converter will help you launch better get a 3500 stall converter that will help at the track but if you want it to handle more power your prob going to have to get it rebuilt which is a lot of cash. A solid tune will help it shift better as you already know im sure.
Also b&m is working on making a auto shifter that should help out a lot for fun shifting in the auto

RE: auto trans mods
these autos don't need a shift kit, just a tune. I have the predator 93 octane tune in mine and trans tune to match and it will bark the tires in 4th at the track. you would think it had a stage 3 shift kit in it. and like the other guys said, if you put a higher stall converter in it you wouldnt believe it was the same car. I have a 4,000 to 4,200 stall in mine and with the lock up feature it is still very driveable even on longer trips, but take it to the track and you can give the sticks a run for the money, and so far I havent had a na stick beat me yet in the 1/4.

RE: auto trans mods
It all depends on what your definition of "more power" is. If you are just talking minimal mods and minimal power ( less than 400 or so to the wheels ), just have it tuned, maybe get a new torque converter. If you are talking "MORE POWER" than you have several choices.
You can do a C4 swap with a 10" race converter that is rated for 650hp for about $1900 or so. But the C4 is sort of a high maintenance tranny.
There is also the choice of going with a PA transmission AODE/4r70w , but that is going to set you back about $4800. More if you want to go with some sort of stand alone controller. As it is a fully manual valve body. So unless you want to "shift" it, you will need some sort of controller.
Level 10 supposed to have a built 5R55S out now also, and it includes a trans brake ( well, you did say "more power")
TCI (662-224-9300) is rebuilding the 5R55S's also and putting some pretty beefy parts in to them. If you call them, ask for Kevin.
