Default MPG results from 400 mile trip

Hey,

This car surprises me everyday. I drove 400 miles last weekend and got an average of 28 miles per gallon! Since there were cops all over the place, I kept my speed within 5-7 miles of the speed limit and stayed in 5th gear a lot. I averaged 57 mph according to the computer.

I couldn't believe the results!

yeah I did about 1100 miles over the weekend with averages of 75 and 80....and got 26 and 27 respectively. I generally get about 23.8 to 24.2 with a mix 75/25 highway / city

I'm at 12.9 mpg this tank [:'(]

Mine has been 90% bumper to bumper traffic on back roads with stoplights all over and 10% driving to hear my new exhaust.

Unfortunately the exhaust mod has made my mpg go WAY down because I keep the rpm's up cause I like the sound so much [>:]

i hear ya, i only have A/B's and since its warm out, i have the windows down and i love the sound. can't wait for the o/r h-pipe!!!

but on the highway without trying i can get 25mpg easy. now a month ago i did a "little" over the limit...my gps said i averaged 72mph (last 30 wasn't interstate) but i only got 20mpg then.

I can never get it above 20 mpg, but then again I'm not doing the speed limit. LOL

On my car's first trip home from the dealer, w/ only 10 miles on the odometer, it got 27.2 mpg. This was not on level land, either, i.e., it included hills. Currently my computer is showing 18.5 and has not gotten below 18.0. Maybe I am not driving hard enough!!

I drove about 1500 miles this last weekend and got a little better than 25 MPG, but 600 miles of that was in an 80 MPH zone, and I was doing 90 MPH. I was getting about 22 at 90 MPH. It wasn't flat ground, though. I was going through the Davis Mountains here in Texas.
