Thanks for the track support...good to see even with gas at $3 that people are still willing to do what they love.
RollTide....The next BMW event at Barber will be a PBOC event (PBOC=Porsche BMW Owners Club)
This is not our chapter but is run the same way and they're a good group of guys, many of whom are members of our chapter.
You can go to their website
www.PBOCFLORIDA.com
You can run your stock car. Tech is just making sure your exhaust isn't being held on with coat hangers, your engine isn't leaking like a stuck pig, things like that. Nothing fancy.
You do need a Snell 2000 Helmet or newer.

Yes, I've been pricing springs...1st thing I need to do !
BMW V. Mustang....hmmmm
The Mustang's stock suspension...I had to wait for the car to roll onto or fall ontothe spring before I could get on it in the corners. Exit speed was very good. I love the torque. My BMWs take a little more to wind out so it's nice to have that stuff on the low end. I ran with my buddy who has a '98 M3 (with engine mods). I pull on him in 3rd.,...he pulls on me in 4th...but very close...very close.
I think the BMW is more refined in it's character then the Mustang. Having said that I think the Mustang has more of the old world school feel that many modern cars are loosing. The "seat of your pants" feel that I think with all the techno crap, traction control, fly by wire throttles, electonic gizmos that certianly make the sub par driver better, take away from the folks like us that want to "drive the car" not be driven.
Make sense?
I'm having fun...hope everyone else is !

My motto is drive it like you stole it. The stealership stole my hard earned money, I'm earning it back with every mod I do and every Vette I pass.....JMO.

BTW I'm up to $57,200 in mods + cost of car.......Holy SHEEIT that's depressing....

Buying a Mustang and not taking it to the road course/drag strip/whatever, is like buying a hooker for the converstaion. but to each their own...

I say enjoy it while you can... I plan to keep my mustang and I go to the drags just about everytime it's offered. Whats the point of doing mods if you have nothing to compare it too? I mod mine and race all the time just to see the difference each mod makes... I'm all about opening it up and letting it's legs stretch a bit[8D]
