Default paint job on ducktail

Quick question. I went to get an estimate on getting the rear holes filled and painted etc... He said he suggested "fanning out" the paint so it blended better with my factory paint. "Fanning out" costs $150.00 more. He REALLY recommended this. Total $485.00 not including ducttail.
Did any of you do this?

There is a place on ebay selling a lot of spoilers. They have a shelby style one.
I ordered my wife one for her Saturn (saturn style spoiler). Paint was very nicely done!! Very suprised. Hardware was top notch, etc. Paint match was pretty good! Not perfect, but her car is 3 years old and has never seen a garage. From 3 feet you can tell no diference, then it is very hard.
I am going to get one for my mustang when I have the extra money. You may want to look into it.
Dont recall the place but they had a ton of feedback vs the other spoiler places few hundred.

I had aducktail spoiler put on mine(along w/ louvers) and the price I got was $450($600 if I had it blended out), I went w/ the blending out and it looks great. See below.

I had that done on my right front fender when i got a scratch and dent in it. They had to repaint the whole fender. The blending was included in the price. I'm not a paint man but i'm sure it has something to do with how the new paint would match up to the original and if not done the new paint could look different from the original. Hopefully there is someone on here that has paint experience that can clarify it for us. The price to fill and paint the decklid doesn't seem to be a bad price. You'll probably look at about $100 to $150 to paint the spoiler.

I'm getting my ducktail painted atm. No blending, but its black so doubt it would be noticable anyway. Are you guys just going with the 3m 2-sided tape or having attached with screws also? I hate thinking about drilling holes in my panels but also don't wanna see a piece go flying off. The screws don't look like they would hold much anyway. but might be a good improvement when used with the tape.

How does the paintjob look on the spoiler? Is the clear coat good quality? It isn't dull?

I've heard it's very good. No personal experience though.

I have a ducktail and the stripes painted and the whole top of the car was repainted and recleared with 3-4 coats so I could bury the stripes. The price that was quoted to you seems right if they are reputable and have done show or near show quality work before. Ask to see previous work if it is around as pics sometimes hide as well as they show flaws and imperfections. JMO J
