Having owned both a 2005 GT and now a 2006 GT, I would suggest that maybe you should look for a 2006 model(I've seen '06 GT coupes as low as $22,000 out here in So Cal). I drove my '05 for approx. 21K miles and had the following items(problems). Gas tank replacement(hard to fill), dead battery, bad throttle body(car began to surge and stumble badly), replaced front strut bearings(clicked noticeably when turning lock to lock) and passenger side weather stripping replaced(aforementioned in a prior post) to fix leaky seal. All items were, of course, fixed under warranty. Have had my '06 for 10 months and with 9500 miles so far, not a single problem(yes there's a slight rattling on cold mornings in the interior door handle area, I think the cheap plastic backing behind the handle itself is the culprit). I have a friend with a 2003 350Z and she has about 70K miles already on it and she hasn't had too many problems, but the tires wear out quickly and the interior is falling apart. I wouldn't consider a 350Z because of it's limited interior space and isn't as fast(although I hear the '07s are about equal to the GT now). Find an '06 with either transmission(mine were/are stick-shift) and I think you'll be happy. If getting an automatic, get a tuner to change the feel of the trans(as stated previously).

keep in mind that i think that when people talk about a "noisy" drivetrain it isn't anything extreme by any means.

that is to say, it is not so loud as to be annoying nor is it something that will make you second-guess your purchase...

Was the noisy tranny and drivetrain just a 05 gt issue or is it all of theh 05-07 gt's? I had a 5 speed car before and love the fun of going out and tearing it up and now I have a auto truck and love how I can just sit back and relax and not have to worry about anything. Now I have to decide between the two so I dont regret it.
