thanks for all the response guys.. i still have yet to look under it.. i will check it out tomarrow for sure.. im not reallllly worried about it.. but just something that was pointed out, and if it needs to be fixed then ill fix it.. maybe i can fabricate somethign to make it more sturdy.. i dunno..

I looked under my 05. Yup, 3 little plastic tabs hold it in place.. And those are just as flexible as the bumper itself so really they do nothing..

Ill consider super glueing a hard plastic piece behind the bumper perhaps, either across the thing or from the middle and up to the car chassis or something.

look just ahead of your gastank- my 06 has a little rubber 'airdam' just ahead of the fueltank on each side- recall reading this was to prevent the bumpers from fluttering at highway speeds- if the 05 dont have it, *maybe* a dealer can add it???

my bumper is also hanging by a thread as it seems, but never heard any flutter, and guys that followed out to the dragstrip never mentioned it...those 3 little tabs I think will tear off sooner or later anyways- noticed mine when it was a couple weeks old- the tabs are 'folded' 180, molded as part of the bumper, and where folded are paper thin and 'stretched white'...flaky setup.

bringing back an old post but My bumper does the same thing on the highway. Its horrible. it happens to a lot of people but they dont notice it because you need to be in a car behind.

the dealership said they cant do anything about it until a TSB is put out.

I suggest we all call ford corp. and let them know so they can put a TSB and fix this crappy ****. If this was a vette, the dealership would have fixed it.

Theres small bracket-attachment thingys behind the bumper that attach it to the chassis. Really weak little things. if one gets loose by just a few millimeters then it will be enough to cause flexing. I JBweld'd the brackets in place, and it worked. Theyre fairly unimportant soooooo, just be creative.
