125 shot still not enough.
WellI will hang my head down today in shame as i have lost to a honda last night. Some might have seen my post about it yesterday. its not your ordinary honda guys. Its motor probably cost as much as half my car. NO joke.
Im saying he's pushing between 240-250rwhp in a 2000lbs car with him in it.[:'(]if you know hondas that alot of power for ALL MOTOR. b16.
I bumped my shot to the 125 shot took out 2 degrees of timing and added 2 gallons of race gas.
I could have probably won if i didnt spin my *** off on SLICKS. yes I spun them all motor 5500k dump will do it.I dont have a line lock soI cant get them hot. I was running them at 20psi too. I havent had much practice with them so I contribute my loss to that too. i was just thinking hey there better then street tire and with my mods I thought I had enough.
point being if you cant hook the power. your not going to win, no matter what. WellI finally started to get the slicks down, and learning how to launch

^^^ Ditto
I don't use a line loc and 60ft in the 1.4's
I can't see running 20 psi on ANY slick. MT, Phoenix, Hoosier, BFG, Goodyear - can't see a reason to ever be over 15 psi at most.
I run 11.5 before the burnout

yeah something doesn't add up!! These guys above me know it best, so there is nothing to add. Just pratice man. Learn how to drive your car, you can have all the HP in the world, but if you can't drive you it does you no good. You should be able to beat a 240-250 rwhp 2000lb car. What kind of Honda is it? Was a complete race ready honda? Seats out, completely gutted?
You should be putting down 380-400 rwhp right? You should of handed him his ***. Dont know alot about honda but I am pretty sure the b16 with full bolt ons, no turbo,s/c and gas is no where near 240-250 rwhp.

yeah I spun nasty out of the whole and I havent mastered the brake and gas teqnique. I think the guy who mounted the slicks didnt balance them right. it feels scary at over 100mph. but it might just be me.
This was a fully built motor. just in a gutted honda. its difinatley a mid to low 12 second car. I know i should be a 12 even if i didnt get a good launch? hope to get another race in a week or so. Iam practicing.
for guys on slicks. what tire pressure u running. and what are you launching at and are you dumping the clutch or feathering it out?

Thats exactly what I said yesterday and I quote probinator "point being if you cant hook the power. your not going to win, no matter what. WellI finally started to get the slicks down, and learning how to launch". Spinning sure is fun if the contest is to see how much you can smoke your tires but a good chunk of racing is who gets off the line first and doesn't spin orminimize the spin of the tires. Did you have fun though even with a loss it is still fun to race. You will win next time....
