How good is the Traction Control on the 05-07 Mustang? Also, is the Traction Control unit on the V6 models same as those that on the V8 models?

I would say it is very good on the GTs. I drove in the rain and snow and it works great. Anytime i start to lose traction it stops the tires from spinning and I regain grip almost immediately.

I can tell it's very good, too...

I was playing with it today, and thought I'd turn it off, just to see the difference. I made a right hand turn from a stop light to get onto the freeway, and the rear end kicked around in a little bit of a fishtail with it off; with it on, I've made that turn a couple of times with no swerve.

I have a sixer...haven't had it in the snow yet, but for the first 6 days I had it rained. Handled very well in the rain. At that time there were still some patches of sand left over from the winter...the TCS did a very good job of keeping me straight and keeping me from fish tailing.

I hate the traction control. In a straight line on dry pavement its actually quite good because it allows a limited slipping of tires, but with extra power and gearing, it's useless, especially around corners or when it's wet.

+1

I had mine shut off in the tune, much happier. If your not familar with rear wheel drive it probably won't compensate for your lack of knowledge.

So, is the Traction Control unit on the GT same as those on V6?

Anyone Mustang V6 owner here that has TC equipped? How good is it? It gets quite a bit snow here, I'm not sure if I should drive it when it snows. Don't want to crash my new car.

Thanks.

With the traction control on, I tried doing a donut in the snow from a dead stop. It wouldnt let me do it.

I think it works fantastic. It's kept my car in check when driving it in the snow and rain lately, and it stops me from roasting my tires if I do an agressive launch or acceleration in 1st and 2nd. In fact, I haven't even driven the car with it turned off yet...still trying to get used to the car overall without wrecking...lot like yourself.

Bottom line, it works.
