Default Do the 4:10 or not???

I'm surethishas been discussed before and I'm sure I'll get someone telling me to do a search, but I'm going to ask it anyway. I've done all the mods in my sig and one of the last things i'm considering this year is changing the gear. For you guys that have done the 4:10...do you regret it? Is it to much gearing for the engine? My car is not a daily driver. In fact I just broke over 1,000 miles and have had it over a year, so gas milage is not an issue. What do you guys think of the results?

Thanks

First, let me admit that I have not gotten the 4.10s in the Mustang yet....

However, I have had several cars with 4.10s, and my truck even has 4.56s (although it has 35" tires so that takes a lot of the pull out of it.

But I cannot WAIT to get the 4.10s in the Mustang. Just need some money.

Do it and you wont regret it. I did it 2 nights ago and coupled with the tune and intake, its like driving a new car. Hard to keep the 295's planted on the ground. In turns of rpms on the frreway, streets, normal driving, you would not know its there. Just when you punch it you feel a kick. Now that I bit the bullet and finally did it, I am wondering what the 4.30 will feel like. Just do it and dont look back. Its the best bang for $$$$$. If you are in Los Angeles, I can recommend a great shop and great rates. Plus they can slam them in a couple of hours. No whining o problems at all and this is our 2nd car we did in a month. They do 6-8 cars a week (gears).Good luck.

I did the 4.10 about a month ago love them you will not regret doing the gears. I still get around 26 out on the highway and my car only has 1300 miles on it.

4.10's make the car deceptively fast.Well worth it IMO. My car is my DD, but I only drive 15 miles to work and max speed I go is 75mph unless i'm passing someone and then it's 120ish.

The car pulls hard now in every gear. Cruising now at 3k rpm in any gear it feels like i'm driving a much more powerful car.

All that and I still have yet to do a WOT run, imagine how impressed i'll be then.

Be sure to find a shop that knows what they're doing. It's not rocket science, but there's a lot of measuring to get it right.

NO regrets with 4.10's in my 4.0L/5spd. I still get better mileage than my wife's stock4.0L/auto ragtop. On a recent trip to Norwalk and back (~1,100 miles), I averaged over 23mpg, and that included 5 or 6 passes down the 1/4 mile!

3600 RPMS at a highway speed of 90mph sounds painful to me. And I LOVE taking the trip to Vegas.

All these highers RPMs not only eat gas but its increased engine wear.

maybe 3.90 would be uhm, more good, but maybe an aluminum driveshaft would be best.
