Removing Car Dealer's nameplate...how to?

RE: Removing Car Dealer's nameplate...how to?
I've had cars where it was painted on so I liked having it be a decal (was already on the car when I looked at it.) This one it pretty much all peeled off with a pressure washer at the car wash. Then I just had to get the glue off. Now to get rid of the plate frame and I won't be giving any free advertising.

get a flat head screwdriver... shove it behind the nameplate... then pry away from the vehicle... alsowiggle the screwdriver up and down... it'll come right off...

I'd be weary about using the screwdriver, personally. I just removed one of the dealer "badges" (vs. a sticker) from a car and I used dental floss. Get it behind the badge and then use it in a sawing motion to "saw" through the 3M adhesive that they put back there. Then use anything from bug tar remover to WD-40 to get the remaining adhesive off.
The stickers, on the other hand, you can usually just pick off with your fingers.

Return to the dealer and ask them to take it off. They're usually cool about it.
When I was signing the papers on my car, I could see the guy who was detailing the car peeling the backing off of the little dealer emblem. I told the salesman that if the emblem touched my car, I wasn't signing anything. He jumped up so quick he almost flipped his chair.

RE: Removing Car Dealer's nameplate...how to?
I waited for my Stang to arrive off the truck.
Bought it sight unseen sort-of. I had not signed
anything and made the stipulation of no dealer
advertising on my Stang. Didnt even want it
touching it or having some $5 hour wash boy
removing it. That went in one ear and out the
other. When I arrive to finally see what I was
buying and to my dismay, a darn dealer sticker.
Well this salesman was hot to sell and when I
asked how much $$monthly they would be
paying me for the advertising he had this dumb
look on his face like he had never heard of that
before. Well I let wash boy take it off and inspected
the car once more. There was still adhesive on
the paint where the sticker was and it was all
scratched up from the RAZOR BLADE he used
to remove it. I watched him along with the saleman
and when he pulled out the razor blade it didnt even
phase the salesman. I just stood there and watched.
Pointed out the scratches and he said they would
buff right out. So out comes the buffer and washboy
goes to buffin with some sort of compound. Now it
has deep swirls and he burned the paint from the edge
of the trunk lid. So I point this out after he is done and
now I dont want the car at all after weeks waiting
for it to arrive. Lewis Ford in Fayetteville Arkansas
did this and the son Mathew Lewis thinks I am crazy
because I want a perfect new car and not just what
they want me to have because thats what they have
to sell on hand. Sorry, I got worked up on this one.
I purchased somewhere else 50 miles away and
they listened about my Lewis Ford troubles and
put on the kid gloves for me.

I have always saturated the top edge of the stick-on with WD-40. Peels right off. I have also always stipulated no dealer stick-ons if not already applied. Ford tastefully didn't even put "Mustang" anywhere on my car, except on the door sill plates. Why then would the dealer think a ******** car dealer sticker look good on my car?

I was told that I would get prefered treatment if it was readily
known that the vehicle was purchased thru them. I guess it
would suck to be the other guy who didnt buy from them
but wanted quality Ford service just to be put to the back
ofthe line?? Did nt make sense to me.
