RE: Battery is it a big deal? or Stock?
The factory/stock battery is a good battery. But if your looking to put your car on a diet then a brail battery is the way to go.They save you like 35-40lbs!They cost about 180.00.

FredTT, You got a battery isolator in that set-up?
You didnt mention that and its needed or one battery
will discharge into the other until they are both dead.
The only thing your alternator does not like is charging
two dead batteries after the jump start (that the PCM
does not like) and running the extra load of a high power
stereo. The alternator does not care about the # of batteries
as long as they are fully charged. They just store power.
Its the devices using all that power it dislikes. I would
have gone with a YellowTop myself.

Transfering the battery to the trunk is for optimizing weight transfer. But you will add a little extra weight to the car running the new battery cable lines from the back of the car to the front.IMO,,I would just get the light weight brail battery.

The only reason to go with a more powerfull battery is if you put
something on your car that draws more than the stock battery
can supply. The starter is the highest draining device on the Stang
OEM. Think of it like this. The alternator is the pump and the
battery is the storage device. All the battery can do is store
power, it cant make it. If you want to run the radio while the
car is not running, a bigger battery will run the radio longer,
thats all it will do.

I know about the alternator, i'm just kidding. I'm not running an isolator, because frankly I don't think its needed. My rear battery powers my amps, sub, cap, and speakers. On its own, it can run my entire system on full blast for almost 24 hours. Add with tahat the front battery, and I'm not worried. Thats why I didn't bother with the hassle (and price) of an isolator. It works just as well. I'm planning on putting a kill switch in the line somewhere...eventually....nahh. Not worth the hassle.
Anyone who wants to put a battery in your trunk, you need to use sealed AGM technology, because it does not have to be an open atmosphere. Just vented to the atmosphere. I have the Kinetic Power Batteries
