Default Any tips for Kenne Bell twin screw install?

Hey guys, I just ordered a Kenne Bell twin screw for my 2007 GT, it will be here next week. If anyone else has done this install, do you have any tips that would help make it easier? Thanks alot I appreciate any input.

Read the instructions twice. Then read them once more while looking at the engine.

Go slow -- Especially when you are near the end - that is where most mistakes will happen.

The heater hoses are a BEAR to get off--much harder than the "bolt from hell" mentioned in the manual. Buy one of those $20 cut-off tools from Harbor Freight or Northern Tool to zip through the headlight bucket. Solder and heatshrink all wire splices. If you have not soldered before, maybe practice in advance. You can get adequate supplies from Radio Shack. I ran my wiring from the boost-a-pump under the car, rather than through the cockpit. Make sure you zip-tie it away from suspension parts and don't leave it hanging down where it can get damaged.
My only install mishap was getting an idler pulley cocked when I tightened it. I snapped the belt instantly on startup...not a good thing! BTW, you can only get that 10 foot belt from Kenne Belle or some on-line industrial place in Ohio. do yourself a favor and spring for a $45 replacement now and keep it in the trunk for insurance (unless you want to be stranded on a road trip for 5 days waiting for another one if it breaks).

Have fun! The power is unreal. Start saving for new/wider tires, LCAs and such...

i like everything bigdave said......i think i'll get myself
a spare belt too

i would just say, take your time and pay attention to every
detail. when i did mine, i didn't care how long it took
for any particular step.

good luck and let us know how the first test drive goes

Thanks Hammeron, I will post another thread with pics andresults after the install. And, I'll order an extra belt for sure! I also thought I would enjoy wearing out the stock tires before getting wider wheels and tires!

Learn from my experience installing the Saleen. Ditch all those PITA factory hose clamps in favor of stainless screw type clamps. Pick em up cheap at Home Depot or ACEHardware.
