Default RE: Recaro seats in a 2006 MGT

ORIGINAL: bluetang

Here are my pictures with Recaros installed:

Also my wife purchased them through On Track Performance. They told her they had good install instructions which they did Not. I still have the airbag lights on the dash showing up so make sure you buy through a dealer that knows what they are doing.

The Recaros cost around $2K for the pair with tilt sliders and steel base mounts. There are cheaper seats out there, but IMO there were none that were as adjustable, comfortable, and good quality. Leather would have been another $300 per seat. I went with a pattern that is close to the BMW E36 M3 special order cloth seats as I have owned a few E36 M3s, etc and love how close the Mustang comes to similar performance and fun.

Since most race series require the airbags to be disabled or removed I have not cared about the sensor but if you want to fool the sensor it would likely just take a small fuse or resistor...fuse would probably be better if you actually want the bag to work in a deployment situation vs just wanting the light to go out. I used resistors in the past (somewhere btw 1 and 3.5 ohm depending on the sensor system) but I never really cared if the bag deployed.

I dont have any pix of my seat in but I have the Cobra Susuka S GT...a lot more comfortable and safe on the track. They run around $1k for the seat, sliders and mounts (dont have to use the Cobra mounts)
